24 MONTH EXPANSION PLAN

2009/2010

 

 

 

 

 

 

General

 

 

 

Presently we are busy building the office, store room and the first house for a needy family in QwaQwa, South Africa, and a Soup kitchen and Day care in Lesotho.

 

 

The walls of the Office/Storeroom building are 70% finished and we anticipate that this building will be finished by the end of November/mid December. Once completed, we will be much further along on the first house to be given away, and that then could be finished by the end of March. Construction of a dedicated Day Care can then start and we can have that in operation by the end of 2009.

 

 

In the meantime, we started the foundations of the Soup kitchen/ Day care in Lesotho. The walls will be from cut sandstone, so building will greatly depend on how fast the stone cutters can deliver the required stone. If they can keep to their time table, this building can be operational before the end of 2008. On the same premises we will then erect a building to house visiting volunteers, which we plan to have completed by April 2009.

 

 

Once the Soup kitchen/Day care building is completed we will start similar feeding programs in the more remote areas of Lesotho where poverty is extreme. These will consist of mainly soup kitchens to serve the needs of pre-school children not reached by the bigger organizations providing aid.

 

 

The number of villages served will depend on the support that can be raised.

Construction

 

QwaQwa - South Africa

Lesotho: 5 trips/week @ 450 km/day = R600x5: R3000/week = R12000/month: $1846

 

QwaQwa: 5trips/week @160KM/day = R200x5: 1000/week = R4000/month: $615

 

• Maintenance:

Diesel Vehicles must be serviced every 5000 km, thus once a month.

Petrol vehicles, once every 10 000km, thus once every 3 months.

 

 

 

Salaries

 

 

1.        Teachers are trained by the Lesotho Educational Department and by ourselves in South Africa.

2.        Food is prepared by a lady from the village trained by CTCF

3.        Builders are from the area.

4.        Project manager to stay at the site. Makes sure problems are solved as they happen and that premises are secure. Will also be our contact in the village.
